Random Post

For the first time in my life I took a train by myself, I went from Philly to New Haven. I left on Sunday and I go back home on Tuesday so I'll be spending my birthday here. 19 woohoo!

I don't think this is really going to be about knitting, i just felt like posting on here. I've been posting everywhere it seems like, just not here. I've been all over Tumblr (here's a link to mine) and Twitter (again here's a link). I've been posting something at least once a day so follow me if you want!

Also, I wanted to let you , my readers, know that I'm starting an A Year in My Life through Pictures blog. I think I'll start it Sunday considering that's my birthday. :) I'll link to it once I get it started.

I think that's it, so good night and happy knitting!

Knitting Slump

It has been months since I really knit. I'd been working on the same sock for about 6 weeks and nothing else. Despite all the WIPs I have I can't bring myself to knit on them.

Does this happen to you? What do you do to combat it?

Sweet Silence

It has been 2 months since my last post and I'm a little disappointed in myself. But, I haven't gotten much knitting done either. A couple of hats and two socks (not matching). I took a picture of the sock I just finished today but have sadly failed to photograph the one I finished last month.

I used KnitPicks Stroll in Shoreline Twist. It's a Vanilla toe-up sock using short row toe and heel. I used the whole skein so it reaches the top of my calf.

Happy Knitting!

TKC Swap

I participated in a swap with TKC over the past month. I got my package today from Korry. Here's a picture.
It's 2 skeins of LB Superwash Merino in Denim, this yarn is so soft and perfect. I'm thinking of making either Stockholm Scarf or Pelham Bay Cowl. Both look great, but I'm leaning towards the former, although I love the simplicity of the latter. Which do you like more?

On to the rest of the goodies, the tea is Slim Mint from Tea & Sympathy. It's mint chocolate flavored, and it's delicious! The Lucky Sticks look good, along with the Toffee Crisp bar. Now the hat, oh my gosh it's so cute! It reminds me of Cubby, one of the lost boys in Peter Pan. Here's a picture.
So cute, right?

Well, I'm off to spend the rest of the weekend knitting andwatching the Winter X Games. Happy Knitting!

Sweater Knitting is addictive.

Well, it's been a while since my last post and I'm a bit disappointed in myself for letting it go this long. While I wasn't blogging I was working on a KAL with TKC. I was pleasantly surprised when it only took a week,  when we had allowed 2-3 months to knit it up. The design the Juli and Tah chose is $5 in Paris, it's cute but the pattern needs some work. The stitch counts aren't there and they definitely would have been helpful, along with final measurements. But all in all, it turned out fine. The sleeves were short so I lengthened them.
It's been extremely cold and dreary outside so I couldn't get any decent pictures. This one is taken in a bathroom mirror as you can tell.

Since I finished this on Saturday, I started another sweater. This time, it's a cardigan and I'm designing it myself. I'm about halfway done with it already so I should be finished with it in about a week.

Happy Knitting!

Weekend Knitting

I pretty much had a lazy weekend knitting. So I got plenty done. I finished Mike's socks.

The background is pretty bad, I just woke up and threw them on the couch not caring where they landed, then took a picture. Maybe I'll take a better picture later and replace this one.
I had ordered 3 balls of Stroll Sport and I think if I made them each an inch or so shorter I could have gotten away with only 2. Now, I have no idea what to do with the partial skein.

I also managed to get past the heel on my Dad's sock.

This is a slightly better picture than the last one.

It's perfect TV knitting and I also worked on it while at youth group. I'm almost enjoying the zen quality of basic black sock knitting. Nothing shmancy going on here.

I'm doing a swap with TKC (Teens Knit and Crochet) on Ravelry. I've got the yarn (mostly, I think. Not completely sure yet.), now I just need the goodies. Well, I've already got one of the goodies done. I'm putting in something handknit.

Well, I'm off to get the rest of the goodies and my hair cut.

Happy Knitting!

Monotonous Knitting

All day yesterday I worked on my dad's socks. They're long and black. Can you say monotonous?

I've gotten 8 inches done so far,  about an inch left before I can start the heel. It's just a simple toe-up sock with 3/3 rib on the instep.

I didn't work on Mike's socks yesterday or today. I'm planning on picking them up again tomorrow, hopefully. I've been working on a design most of last night and today. I just finished the knitting, now all that's left is to write up the pattern and get it test knit. Pictures will be coming as soon as all that is done and it's up for sale.

Have a fun weekend and most of all, happy knitting!
